Call for Information

The Frontenac County Schools Museum is in the process of developing an interactive digital map of one-room schools in Frontenac County. The map will allow users to visualize and better understand the history and experience of one-room schools.

A major component of the project is conducting research about each one-room school in the County. We have been using an array of sources to compile information, including archival documents in our collection and secondary sources. We have also been in contact with several other institutions to share sources. However, we are still looking for information about certain schools.

We are reaching out to you, the community, to help us fill in the gaps of the history of one-room schools in Frontenac County. If you or someone you know attended a one-room school; or have any information about one-room schools in Frontenac County that you would like to share, please leave a comment below or send us an email at info@fcsmuseum.com. Every photograph, story, tidbit, or recollection helps! Please check this page regularly for updates.
