Families and Individuals
Visitors can expect to be immersed in the good ol’ school days. For younger visitors, they will be led through a short school lesson followed by a guided tour of the gallery. We also offer both guided and self-guided tours of our gallery. The Schools Museum offers unique hands-on elements that allow visitors to interact with props and try historic activities
- Volunteers and staff will lead you through the gallery highlighting special objects in the collection. (note: Self-guided tours offer a more relaxed experience where visitors can take in the exhibits at their own pace with volunteers or staff there to answer any questions they may have.)
- The gallery features permanent displays as well as new displays that rotate through the season. This means that there will be something new even for returning visitors!
School Lesson Includes
- A ten to fifteen-minute lesson led by our “school marm”.
- Take home craft related to the season and/or current exhibits on display
- A pen and ink lesson.
Visiting the museum is a free experience. However, we greatly appreciate donations – the recommended donation is $5 per person.
